Consider a full face mask, to use the mouth for breathing when sleeping with CPAP. You probably have obstructions in your nose, so you better check that.
You have obstructive sleep apnea if you snore during the night and stop breathing. If you stop breathing without snoring, then you may have central sleep apnea. CPAP therapy is a must for central sleep apnea treatment.

Central Sleep Apnea are apneas that occur because the brain does not signal the body to breath. These types of apneas show up on a sleep study. They are treated through a non-invasive ventilator.
If you truely are not getting enough pressure, you will unknowingly open your mouth to get enough air and breath. This is why many people with sleep apnea breath through their mouths until they begin using CPAP.
If your sleep study is negative for obstructive sleep apnea, why are they treating you? Is it because you have hypopneas?! Those are a 50% or greater reduction in flow.. very similar to obstructive events, but tend to last longer due to some movement of air.
Your best bet is to use a full face mask which allows you to breath from either nose or mouth and take this worry away from you.
